Icelandic Interior: Guesthouse 1×6 in Reykjanesbær / Islandiškas interjeras: svečių namai 1×6 Reykjanesbær

Today I want to tell you about the interiors of a small guesthouse “1×6”, located downtown  Keflavik (Reykjanesbær). It is created and run by a couple of artists: wood artist Daníel Hjörtuur Sigmundsson and Linda Mjöll Stefánsdóttir, the stage set designer. They were using recycled timber, driftwood, parts from giant cable drums, stones from the seaside and broken tiles to create these distinctive and cozy rooms. Every room is decorated with handmade local textile: rugs, crocheted bedspreads and cushions. Some rooms are decorated with the enormous size images of Icelandic nature by  German photographer Thorsten Henn.  More about this guesthouse – here and here.

One more amazing interior by Daníel Hjörtuur and Linda Mjöll is the office of web design company Kosmos&Kaos. You can see images from there here.
