I wish a happy and cozy Valentine’s Day for all of you! For me it is the one more occasion to decorate the house, make cookies and some crafts with kids. And a night of romantic movies after all. I was baking heart-shaped cookies last night.

And these cookies are the same as I was cooking for Christmas, just heart-shaped:
Here is the recipe:
4 cup (~500 g) wheat flour
2 egg yolks
1/2 sick (~50 g.) butter
1 + 1/2 cup (~200 g.) honey
1 + 1/2 cup (~200 g.) muscovado sugar
1 tsp backing soda (or backing powder)
2 tbsp sour cream
2 tsp spice mix (grounded cloves, grounded zest of orange and lemon, grounded ginger (or ginger powder), cinnamon)
1 + 1/2 cup (~200 g.) confectioner’s sugar
1 egg white
1 tsp lemon juice
Take a big bowl. Mix backing powder or backing soda with sour cream. Add all the rest of dough ingredients and mix well. Knead the hard dough (add more wheat flour if needed). Put the dough into the bowl and chill for 3 hours or more. Make balls with the size of chestnut, boletus-alike-muchrooms (caps and stems separately) or roll the dough and cut with the shape of heart. Put into the backing tray with the backing paper (leave 2,5/1′ space in between), back in 190°C/375°F for 7-10 min. or untill light brown.
Make icing. For nuts: mix egg white and confectioner’s powder in a bowl with a wooden spoon for about 10 min. Finlay add lemon juice. Glue every two nuts together with the icing while warm. For boletus-alike-mushrooms: take half of the ingredients for icing and whisk together adding lemon juice. Glue the stems of mushrooms to the caps using the icing. Let it dry for a while, then paint the stems with the icing. let it dry until stiff. Mix another half of ingredients and add 1-2 tsp of cocoa. Add more lemon juice if needed. Paint the caps of mushrooms with the brown glazing. Let it dry.
For hearts: whisk all the ingredients together, colour with artificial red colour or with the mix of carrot, red beat juice and paprika powder. Glaze hearts with this pink or red glazing. decorate with almond shavings, dry cranberries, cedar nuts or all kinds of cookie decorations. Let it dry.
